Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is Mexican musician who was born into a musical family. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, boleros from the past in addition to traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos as well as opera and other dramatic styles. She started singing and studying musical instruments with her mother then began more intense vocal instruction at the age of 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was a member of many opera chamber and choruses. In 2000, she emigrated back to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she re-located to her present home in Southern California. She currently performs traditional Latin American songs at private events as a soloist. She is passionate about the arts, music, and performing keep her engaged with a variety of local initiatives as a performer, teacher, and instructor. Ana was also part of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher in the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to have the opportunity to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She is hoping that it will encourage younger generations to keep the traditional music going.
